I wrote the seize-the-day tune “Life Is Big” about the decision that started it all: stay in my cubicle job, or quit and see where playing music led me. The theme: You never know ahead of time which path is the right one, but there’s never going to be a better time than now to leap — and you owe it to your heart to reach for a bigger life.
Lyrics — Life Is Big
Life is big
Life is bigger than it seems
You're in the right place
With the right dreams
You've got it all
You've got everything you need
So tell me
What's it gonna be
There'll be times
You won't know which way to go
You might choose the wrong road
There's no way to know
And when you're through
You should have nothing left to give
Don't save it up
That's just no way to live
'Cause life is bigger
Life is deeper
Life is richer
Life is sweeter
Yeah life is real
And life is true
So tell me now
What you gonna do
Looking back
All the signs were there to see
It wasn't a straight road
Leading up to me
But every time
I got lost and turned around
A piece of me
was waiting to be found
Cause life is bigger
(life is big)
Life is deeper (life is deep)
Life is richer (life is rich)
Life is sweeter (life is sweet)
Yeah life is real (life is real)
And life is true (life is true)
So tell me now
What you gonna do
Life is big
Life is bigger than it seems
You're in the right place
With the right dreams
You've got it all
You've got everything you need
So tell me
What's it gonna be
There'll be times
You won't know which way to go
You might choose the wrong road
There's no way to know
And when you're through
You should have nothing left to give
Don't save it up
That's just no way to live
'Cause life is bigger (life is big)
Life is deeper (life is deep)
Life is richer (life is rich)
Life is sweeter (life is sweet)
Yeah life is real (life is real)
And life is true (life is true)
So tell me now
What you gonna do
Life is big
And life is deep
Life is rich and life is sweet
Sweet and real
So tell me now
What you gonna do
